Specializing in Interior Design and Space Planning, Michelle Morgan Harrison is owner and principal designer of Morgan Harrison Home, a full service home design firm offering a wide range of services from FULL SERVICE “PILLAR TO PILLOW” design, or just simple color palette consultations.
Michelle approaches design with a careful balance of classic and modern influences to create NEW SPACES WITH OLD SOULS. With a fresh take on tradition, Michelle builds inviting color palettes and compelling blends of finishes to create timeless and tranquil rooms that consistently delight her clients.
Beginning her career in fashion nearly 20 years ago, Michelle honed her eye for color and texture as the Senior Fashion Editor at ELLE Magazine, Fashion Director of Mirabella Magazine, and Senior Editorial Director of Saks Fifth Avenue. While at Saks Fifth Avenue, Michelle oversaw the fashion direction and editorial content for the retailer’s award-winning catalogs as well as the company’s online presence at www.saks.com. Styling both fashion and home décor editorials, Michelle styled many renowned homes including those of Rachael Ashwell, designer of “Shabby Chic”, and celebrated architect Maya Lin.
Michelle believes that the FLOW OF COLOR FROM ROOM TO ROOM IS CRITICAL to creating a cohesive point of view in any home. She selects color palettes that layer together, adding interest when looking from one room into the next. Typically working in muted palettes, Michelle likes creating fresh, sophisticated rooms that play with color monochromatically with subtle or bold bursts of color. She is known for her astute use of VINTAGE ACCENTS, and mixes finishes and textures to bring authenticity to a space. She believes that good design takes into account both the big picture as well as the quiet details that many people overlook.
